Ive just stuck a st peters golden ale in my new fv [my other fv is now bottling bucket] First reading is around 1046, bubbles in sample jar still there after 30 minutes!! Then again, i gave it an awful harsh stir . Glad to be brewing again after christmas break. :thumb:

Took a sample a week in the fv that read 1020... not good. Gave it a stir and took another sample tonight [2 days later] and its 1018, at 18c. Hope it gets down to around 1010. Gonna be slow. Anybody had this problem with the golden ale.

What temp is it at ? If its too cold that could slow things down, I brewed this and it's lovely, I actually have a St. Peter's ruby red a week in to primary at the moment.

just done a golden and it stuck at 1016 stirred it and still no shift so bottled it last weekend

Mine is sitting between 18c and 20c. I'll give it another day or two before taking a sample.
