Evening all

Ive got my brother coming down in about four weeks and not wanting to let him drink my FOOLS GOLD, Mrs siv brought me a geordie scottish export kit. i followed the instructions to the letter except i subsitiuded the kit yeast with my favorite SO4. Now this was my second ever kit i brewed and i was quite impressed with it. But this one i want to make that little bit better. So im thinking of dry hopping it with CASCADE so my question is how much should i use.

Thanks

Dave Siv

Personally I dont think cascades would work in a scottish export, if you have them i'd go with 10 - 15g Fuggles for 5 - 7 days :thumb:

I've got the same sort of dilemma, my in-laws are coming to stay with us for a few days over Christmas. No jokes about in-laws, mine are ace, Mrs. Mole drew the short straw as she's got my mother to contend with.

However, father-in-law drinks Boddington's / John Smith's, so should I throw down a quick kit bitter, or will I only regret it?

You'll regret it if he doesn't like it and you have to drink it ;)
Why not brew an AG session bitter instead something 1.038 ish with 28 IBU, it'll be ready for Christmas :thumb:

Yes, that's what I'd thought, I don't know how long they are staying but if he only drinks 10 pints that leaves me with the other 30 :(

I wasn't planning another brewday this side of Christmas but I will have to check Mrs. Mole's on-call rota and see if she's working next weekend.
