So, I got a really cheap 3 gallon cooler from the Range yesterday. It has a 3/4 inch push-tap on at the minute; no good for me.

I want to repalce it with a ball valve and braided hose and have a) absolutely no idea what other bits I'll need to hook it all together or b) any idea were to get stuff from!

Anyone tell me what kind of spigots, bushes and nipples I'll need (hee hee) and where I can get them?

Ta.

Can you post a picture of the offending article so we can see what the original tap/connections are like?

Normally, you'd need a 15mm tank connector, a 15mm ball valve, a 1/2" BSP (?) washer and a bit of copper pipe.

All the parts you need are listed in this HOWTO: http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1418

Obviously you won't need all of that stuff as the HOWTO is for an HLT, not a mash tun.

The basic thing would be to cut a 20mm hole in the coolbox, drill out the internals of the tank connector to 15mm, fit the tank connector and the washer to the coolbox. Then take a bit of copper pipe, fit to the tank connector, cut it to give you enough length to fit the ball valve onto it.
