Probably for the same reason you can easily find beer engines all of the place in the UK and I have to pay £250 for a new one or look on ebay UK for used ones. There are just more of them around and as soon as you ship over the pond, the prices skyrocket. :cry:
 
You can still get reconditioned cornelius kegs for £67 from hop and grape.

I understand that but these new ones come from Italy which is much nearer to the UK than the States
