i am not a 100% on how to use the recipe tool so i thought i would enquire here first

i thought of making a mild bitter with a distinct after taste of almond to taste a bit like disaranno but without the sweet taste obviously.
has anyone ever extracted flavors from whole nuts, flaked or grounded almonds? or a the more expensive route of adding cheap ameretto liqueur into their batch?

i am hoping with a bit of advice an guidance to do an extract brew if there is a way forth :) :drink:

I haven't heard of this, but will be paying attention to this thread as I am very interested in the outcome. Good luck! :thumb:

tezerh, your chances of getting the bitter almonds used in Amaretto are slim, best go with the essence or possibly make a wash with soft light brown sugar and 1lt WGJ per gallon aim for high gravity and adjust sugar as req'd, also ABV with cheap brandy ;)

Amerretto is made with BITTER almonds??? I have herd tales of how women used to poison men with tea made from bitter almonds is it really made from bitter almonds?? From what I have read up sweet almonds are a seed where as the bitter almonds containing cyanide are used for very little if not a waste product :S
