Hi All,
I put a Brupacks Almondbury Old Ale into the FV on Sunday, re-hydrated the yeast (11g of Nottingham) and pitched at about 23 degs and put it in a water bath at 18 degrees. On Monday the temp was 21 degs and today it is back to 18 degs. I havenât had one bubble through the airlock, I did seal it up with plumberâs putty last night at the grommet, just to make sure it is gas tight, still no bubbles this morning. There is a residue of foam inside the FV, only about an inch, though.
Is this normal? Every other brew Iâve done has seen the airlock bubbling like a mentalist for at least two days. Help! Itâs too bloody expensive a kit to go wrong!!
Cheers.
