OK so i have my boilers, mash tun, cooler and everything else. Im about to take the leap of faith from kits to the dark side i would like suggestions of recipies that you think i should brew for my first batch. My favorite hand pull beers are golden pipin and white dwarf do any of you guys know of clones of these beers or something similar to try as my first batch. I hope to document this first brew and put it in the brewdays section to help people and also take constructive critisism from people. Thanks in advance

Mick

I can't help with a recipe, but out of sheer curiosity I have googled those beers just to see what they were.. :

Golden pipin : A light refreshing blond ale brewed using a new variety of hop creating a citrus fruit flavour. ABV 4.2%

Here's a potential recipe for it : http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/view ... =5&t=16949

White Dwarf : Piercing bitterness in this English style beer, mellows to reveal fruit overtones amidst a dry as bone finish. / A light and refreshing wheat beer, clear, with a blend of Cascade, Challenger and Pioneer hops leading to a long bitter finish.

couldn't find a recipe for it - in fact google found this very thread!!

Townes IPA is a nice pint:

for 23L

4.9kg Pale
200g Wheat Malt

Cascade to 35 IBU (full boil)
Cascade to 5 IBU (last 15 mins)

Very refreshing pint with lovely citrusy flavours from the Cascades.

Thanks lads cheers Wez that sounds very similar to a pippin clone i found after posting this thread earlier today. and thanks for your input bigyin hows life up there in falkirk?

thanks again

Mick

Follow Wez's lead on your first, keep it simple.
I would use crystal malt instead of wheat malt, but that's my personal taste. :)
