Aldi Mulled Wine heater - Ball Valve?

Anyone tried replacing the tap on the Aldi Mulled Wine heater with a ball valve?
I'm thinking of building a simple spinning sparge arm and use gravity from the heater. But it would be far easier to connect to a proper ball valve output than trying to force a suitable tube onto the inbuilt tap.

Isn't it a molded tap and housing? You might be able to remove and replace with like for like but that shouldn't stop you from fitting a ball valve, just cut a hole in the side of it

Use a Q-max cutter, much tidier and easier to do it with that.

I've got one of those cone bits that I used to drill holes out of a plastic brew vessel - that should do it and be easy to control.
