Aldi Coffee Stout

Missed this thread. I got this some years ago (it's not new to Aldi unless they've changed the recipe)

My gripe with it is that it misses a trick - I found it too thin and a bit fake. Many stouts, even ones under 5% are able to give a nice thick oaty mouthfeel.

Some kind of oaty coffee stout at around 6% should be quite achievable.

Big fan of Aldi. They've done some great stuff in the past.

And the tie-up with Brewdog is back (Aldipa) - decent enough can of session ale for £1 a tin.

Talking of Aldi beers, I really really miss their Williams Bros Rubi’s grapefruit IPA.

They stopped selling here a couple of years ago, it’s an absolutely beautiful beer, perfect for summer.

Much lighter than Elvis juice and better by a country mile.

Aye, Aldipa is fine. Occasionally they'll get some cracking stuff in. I got a few cases of Thornbridge California Sun a few years ago at a very low price. Always decent for picking up some odd tins to drink in the cinema too.
