Hi, just recently joined and very new to wine making. Can anyone tell me how I know when an airlock is half full. I have the one with six wee circle things, two rows of three. Sorry if this is a stupid question and thanks if you can help. Izzi.

Welcome to the forum.

If you hold the airlock up I fill the bottom 2 circles. You just need enough water to stop air entering the fermenter.

Hope I have helped.

Don't worry about the exact amount of water in there. If on each row the lowest sphere is full when you hold in your hands (meaning no pressure on it) that's fine. If there is even just a little bit of water in, a seal is created but make sure it stays that way and not too much water is evaporating. That is usually not a problem though.

And don't worry about asking any questions that's what this forum is about.

I go to about half way up the middle ones.
It's not something you need to be terribly exact about.
