Started my first ever Beer brew yesterday, problem is air lock is not bubbling, I think air must be escaping from elsewhere, I have a hole for air lock and one with a bung for heater,I have tried rapping cling film around to make it air tight but not sure it worked. The brew itself is bubbling fine.

Airlock bubbling is the least reliable source of monitoring fermentation activity unless there is a very tight seal (Vaseline helps) it may not bubble at all, use a hydrometer to check the gravity readings after a few days, once you have the same readings on consecutive days then it has finished.

thanks for setting my mind at rest guys, would of been nice to see a little action though.
