So I was aiming for a 6X clone - 2 gallon batch:

3lbs 8oz Maris Otter
3.2oz chocolate malt
0.5oz Fuggles
0.2oz East Kent Goldings
1/2 tspn Irish Moss
Wyeast Thames Valley

The astute amongst you will probably see my issue already... awful lot of dark stuff in that grain bill eh? :)

Hoppies.

The mash.

Ready for first runnings recycle.

Boiling away.

In goes the chiller.

OK so it is 1039 (fine by me)... but dang... I wasn't aiming for stout - oh dear :)

Well now you'll always know how powerful those dark malts are , in a 23ltr batch 50g can make a difference . I bet it'll still be nice though .

Haha yep.. I think it'll be alright.. Just surprised at the difference between the simulated colour in the recipe app and the real thing :drink:
