This month's brewing budget of £40 was spent wisely on a sack of marris otter, 100g of EKG, challenger, fuggles, cascade and brambling cross hops and a kilo of dark crystal. Hopefully I'll get 6 23l brews from the grain.

Today's brew is the Morland Best recipe from "Brewing Beers Like Those You Buy"

Yeast SO4

I made this before but used maple flavoured golden syrup instead of the sugar and named it squeaky mouse. Really nice and well received by my tasting team (funny how big that group of volunteers is getting.) this time I'm sticking with the book recipe and expect it to be pretty good.

that sounds so good that after reading that i went to the hb shop to get some grains was going to brew something this weekend but you made up my mind what i was going to do  ive got that book its very good but a bit dated some of the beers are long gone like Newcastle amber ale
