nice. I'd go for more dry hops personally, 20g/gallon is pretty normal.

looks great man. Vic Secret is a wicked hop, tastes like 3 hops in one!

FG 1.046

29 litres in fermenter

Will be dry hopping with 100 g vics secret pellets
And 100g anthunum
Maybe more

great brew day slight alterations from start only
5.5kg maris NOT 6.5kg
thought I need more lighter abv beers 5% markish :drunk:

and ok i will be dry hopping in 10 days or so with
155g Ahtanum leaf
155g Vics Secret pellet
got a groovy smelling flat now
Vics secret is super fruity smells very grape fruity orangey very sticky pellets so super oily

looking forward to tasting

probably loose loads o beer to hops
29 litre brew in fermenter at 1048

it has a spicy flavour on the tongue, and certainly balances between all hop styles rather than gearing towards just intense IPA fruit - I got some purple fruity flavours along with it. the ahtanum is pure citrus though, so they will work great together.

Ey up thanks for that
I do try
All my beers apart from 2 are very experimental
And the cost of these here hops can be pricy
I just read reviews etc of hops etc the ones I like the sound of I will more than likely buy and then think of a recipe of sorts to accommodate them
Been drinking brew dogs punk for a while now and been watching their pod casts etc
Don't think I can quite fit into my mash tun yet though

Thanks for that Nobby! Now I've seen how it all works and you've sold me your old boiler, I just need to get a mash tun and I'm off!

Or a biab bag. Decisions decisions.

ye great day

bubbling away in fridge now

thanks to nickW for getting in touch with brew dog about dry hopping
my dry hopping will be done at a slightly lower temperature this time

So when fermentation ends i will
leave another 3 days to rest
then put into secondary with

155g Ahtanum leaf
155g Vics Secret pellets set to 14C
leave for a week
then bottle
see if this improves hop utilisation

this is very similar to what i already do
apart from i usually leave secondary at 19c for a week

just got hold of some
nelson sauvin hops
so changing the plan on the dry hops and amounts
75 gram nelson sauvin leaf
55g Ahtanum leaf
55g Vics Secret pellets
:drink:

cracked the lid open earlier after it calmed down 2 days ago to do the hydrometer reading
at a steady 1.008
me nelson sauvin leaf arrived this morning
so will be put into secondary soon with me massive dry hop  :D
75 gram nelson sauvin leaf
55g Ahtanum leaf
55g Vics Secret pellets
its now out of the brew fridge getting down to 15C for dry hopping

well alls going to plan
been down at 14 c now dry hopped for 9 days now
so will bottle it this evening
i am very prepared with 2 syphons sorted with SS gauze to hopefully ease the draining through the mass of hops

if it clogs like it probably will

but with them meaty meshed syphons should ease it a bit
who know's
will keep you all informed

massive grape fruit aroma
