after conditioning

hi guys, just a quick question here, i have bottled my first biab lager and kept it at room tempreture to carbonate for one week and have now shifted it in to the big walk in fridge at work to condition at work for 4 to 6 weeks 3oc to condition. my question is after this 4 week period can the beer then stored at say 12 to 16 oc which is what my cupboard sits at and is the only place i can store my beers ? will my beer be ok to just chill before drinking again ? cheers guys
 
thats what i thought, surely you dont have to keep it constantly at fridge temp, if you do im goosed and will have to start drinking ales
 
Yes good point, I find two weeks is a good time to allow for carbonation.
 
ah bugger no i have no way of checking. i take it then two weeks at room tempreture wont introduce any dubious flavours even though it was true lager yeast i used ? i can easy bring it out of the fridge for another week. cheers for the heads up lads
 
if i must i suppose one of the bottles could sacrifice themselves for the good of the group, opening will commence tonight, this is my first biab so ill let you know how it all goes
 
well you were right joe, cracked one open and pretty flat, not completely but flat enough for me to bring out the fridge for another week. cheers for the advice mate
 
That's a pity, hopefully another week will do the trick. Discovered my Hammer of Thor is exactly the same. Gonna have to take it out the garage and that had two weeks at room temp after bottling.
 
I just leave my bottles at room temp, don't have anywhere to cold condition, and the carbonation changes over a few weeks. Either drink a bottle a week to check carbonation before going into the cold, or put some on a small plastic pop bottle and when it's carved the bottle will be impossible to squeeze.
 
great shout for the plastic bottle, i dont wanna keep losing beers while waiting on them, nice one

yes i do the plastic 500ml bottle that used to have sparking water in it. That works well.

My last plastic bottle was rock hard at 9pm but it was a bit too late to move the beers to the shed. The following morning it had gone limp :eek: and pushed the lid up the thread. No mess but I did move them all a bit sharpish to a cooler place before heading into work:|
