Hi guys,
First post here as I am just dipping my toe into the waters of homebrewing, so be gentle...
I'm just about to brew my 3rd kit, I've bought a Brewferm Tarwebier (wheat beer) kit.
I also bought a pack of 500g spraymalt as I was advised thsi will improve the flavour/head retention.
The pack is supposed to make 15l of beer at ~5%.
My question is, if I add the spraymalt as well as the recommended 750g sugar instead of replacing 50/50, (1250g total fermentables) can I then add more water? My fermenting vessel will hold 5 gallons/23 litres so it seems that if I can get more beer out of the kit I may as well.
Would this not work out, i.e. would it greatly affect the intended flavour of the kit?
Any help'd be great as I'm still getting my head round the homebrew!
First batch, an IPA, should be ready to drink soon...
