Hi all,

I've been brewing some ginger beer, based on 500g of spray malt to make a 5l batch or wort. I add my ginger root etc but it always seems to end up a little lifeless.

Am I just using too little spraymalt for a 5litre brew, how else could I increase the body of this brew?

Anyone have any ideas?

im no expert but if your making up a beer kit for example you would usually have either 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of spray malt or 500 grams of each for a 23 litre brew, dont know if your using 500g spraymalt for only 5 litres is a problem?
i made up ginger beer myself, its a bit strong as i put in a bit too much ginger but i have a wee ginger beer shandy or tops and its lovely. whatever it lacks in 'body', it bloody well makes up for it by giving a size 10 kick of ginger in the haw maws!
