have you got a picture? it could just be oils from the hops I occasionally get them however sometimes they can be infection :(

If it's quite white and you can move it around (use the sterilised handle end of a spoon) then it's a pellicle from a wild yeast or bacteria.

As G A says, a pic could be useful. It may only be hop oils or the like on the surface.

Another alternative is to taste it - if it tastes vegetable, vinegary or has a lactic edge it's infected. Don't dump it though as it may be quite good just a bit different :thumb: Honest

Everytime I post this picture... it still hurts...

This is what my LAST infection looked like....

It moved as its own gelatinous layer of lovely bacteria. But if your lucky it will only be a surface thing....

this picture needs to be banned , it makes me poorly just looking at it

To any of us who has experienced infection this is a worrying sight. There is nothing worse than seeing 60l of toil and sweat being poured down the drain.

And don't think that this can't happen to you because it will do some day.

[it had fermented]
syphoned into keg, and the film stayed on the side of the fv,
the beer was fantastic, i must have just caught it in time,

id say if its similar be quick and and it could be saved

I agree, very upsetting, been reported to mods for removal
Thanks for the report BB  ...ti's very distressing but I think it should stay as a reminder for good hygenic practice when brewing

If it's o.k at the tap keep drinking until it isn't....quickly :drink:
