So sitting here, watching a film then random stuff on tv, celebrating the start of my days off with a few vodkas, and one of the cats knocked my recently refilled glass over, and the other cat nicked my straw! Wouldn't have minded so much but it was Absolut Pear vodka. Such a waste of a nice vodka!

And yes, I am rather tipsy

Can't beat it, although the 2 trouble makers are the wrong type of pussy!

And these were the 2 trouble makers! Only 5 months old.

Absolut Black, when it's been in the freezer for a couple of days.

Smirnoff blue lable, same storage conditions prior to supping.

There are a few Russia only vodkas as well that are reasonably good, even without freezing them.

Anybody done skittles vodka. get one bottle of vodka and 3 large party bags of skittles sit and choose one colour then seperate that colour whilst eating the rest put all the skittles of said colour into the bottle taking some vodka out first then fill back up and let soak for 1-2 weeks.

Amazeballs springs to mind :)

Is Absolut Black the Absolut 100 one? 50%? If so I've just managed to get a litre of it for £16. Haven't tried it yet though.

Stolichnaya (I think that's how it's spelt) is an amazing vodka. And it's possible the best vodka, from the freezer, in my opinion.

I love Skittles vodka! Always goes down well at parties!

Ever made mars vodka? That stuff is even more lethal!

ice cold toffee vodka is an export from our skiing holiday's,
1/3 caramel syrop ,3 euro's from carrefour etc and 2/3 vodka, shake, chill and serve.
Tres Bon Raymond!
Great in a hip flask, or in a alcoshots gun at parties
although you can buy it for 45 euro for 75cL in bars

Can't stand the garlic vodka though

I have an idea it might be higher than 50%, but it's definitely in that reion, the 100 rings a bell too, is 100% proof 50% ABV?

I'd forgotten Stolichnaya.

Also worthy a mention when cold is Russion Standard, Platinium :)

I can understand flavoured vodkas being good but every straight, unflavoured Vodka I've ever had has tasted disgusting. The only difference I can tell between supermarket value Vodka through to stuff like Absolut and Russian Standard is the latter two don't turn my stomach so much when they go down. The taste has been the same. Am I missing the good ones or do I just not like Vodka?

I put my smirnoff blue in the freezer last night and it is a lot smoother when drinking straight. Thanks for the tip gents. Will be served this way from now on... whenever i get around to buying a new bottle that is...

You may just not like Vodka, but are you drinking it warm, or freezing?

Cheap and nasty vodka will form water crystals when left in a freezer, genuinely good stuff wont, not at fridge freezer temperatures anyway, I did manage to freeze some Smirnoff Blue when I put it in my chest freezer, and forgot about it, happily the bottle didn't crack and it eventually thawed out once I'd sobered up and remembered where I left it :D

Talking of vodka.
I have a couple of bottles of Smirnoff lurking at the back of the cupboard from a Spanish holiday some years ago. Nobody in the house drinks it, but I have a love of Sambuca. Looking online, I found I could buy 'Still Spirits' White Sambuca Essence to add to vodka. I trotted off to my LHBS and bought a bottle. It says on the back of the bottle it can be mixed with their Liqueur base B, OR 240ml sugar and 150ml of liquid glucose. Being a tight b****r I didn't buy the Liqueur base, thinking it would be cheaper to do my own mixing. BUT Sugar is a solid, how the hell can it be measured in ml?
HELP :wha: :?:
