I have an old 70l plastic FV to get back into use, and the inside is dirty to say the least  .

I have scrubbed with Oxi and also with a strong bleach solution - both using guides on here for deep cleaning.
I soaked with purple line cleaner...

This has certainly moved some surface crud, but I think I'll still be here in 2015 scrubbing at this rate before I am truly happy.

What's next? From forum searching I am thinking a 2% solution of Antiformin S

Has anyone used this? - is it a scrub job, or mix up in a cold solution and leave overnight ( or longer ) ?

Cheers

For the sake of your hands wouldn't it be better to buy a new one, and with the amount of chemicals you are buying you will be getting a visit from the Police  :hat:

Haha

Well the oxi I clean with after every brew, the bleach went down the loos. Neither were a full soak, just a couple of litres made up to scrub. The line cleaner did get used after, well for beer lines, although made up more than usual to see if I could shift it in the bottom foot of the fv. So not feeling too bad. . if I need to do a full soak I'll stick a small fv inside to minimise how much I make up.

Chucking away plastic and buying new doesn't hit me as massively environmentally friendly either.

They are also not cheap for decent bigguns..

So, my question stands, or do I just have to man up and scrub more..
