A fun book

My wife bought me this book a few weeks ago. It’s not a ‘how to brew’ book by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a pretty funny memoir and has some really nice ‘beer as life’ stuff that I imagine many of us could relate to. It’s laugh out loud funny at times too.

It's on my Kindle "Wish List" but before I buy it: does it have a load of photographs in it?

The reason I ask is that photographs never seem to come over very well on a Kindle so maybe the "hardback" version would be a better buy for me.

"Yes!" I read it and laughed out loud quite a few times and was so taken with the book I persuaded SWMBO to read it as well.

This act of kindness resulted in one question, one answer and one statement as follows:

Q "Can the things he mentions actually happen when you're brewing beer?"

A "Yes, of course they can."

S "He sounds a right ******** then!"

I wondered why she hadn't laughed out loud; but I still think the book was funny and I'll re-read it before I head off back to France in February 2019! (Inshallah!)

I bought a copy when the first post in this thread appeared. It's a good read. The author was obviously totally clueless when he started but it looks like he got there in the end and the brewery is still a going concern which is a good sign.
Most striking thing is how easy it is to start brewing in France compared to the UK. We seem to look on it as something wicked that needs to be taxed and controlled, whereas the French just think of it as another foodstuff - which of course it is.
