OK guys I'll 'fess up - For the whole of January I've been doing one of these sponsored Dryathlons (a blasphemous word on a site such as this I understand), I've raised a bit of money for Cancer Research. But for pretty much the whole month I have been quite ill. Now at the turn of the month I am writing this almost bed-ridden, went to the docs for 2nd time yesterday he told me I have bilateral basal crackles and needed a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia, I'm hoping its just bronchitis, but bugger me I'm bad, can't breathe, the frothy gunk coming off my chest is nearly 1/2pt every morning. I put it down to abstinence!!!

Trouble is now I have a course of antib's and don't feel up cracking a pint even if I could, bloody hell a cuppa tea is enough of a mission!

Sorry to here about your ill health. Get well soon. :thumb:

And no need to apologies or confess to not drinking, you obviously did it for a very worthy cause. :thumb:

Well Done. :thumb:

bloody hell mate , i hope it's not too serious . All the best and i wish you good health , when you fancy a pint of beer i guess you'll be getting better :(

+1 to all those sentiments!

Oh, and when you're better you're *really* gonna enjoy that first pint! :thumb:

Sorry to hear you are unwell BrewB, get well soon m8 or we will have to come to you & drink your stock before it goes out of date  . Seriously though a speedy recovery is wished to you. ken.

+ 1 to all that's been said Bob.....I feel for you, dad had something like that a few years back....the crap that came off his lungs unbelievable.
Hope your on the mend soon..

Phew, the X-ray was normal. Still feel like cr@p, but at least I can feel like cr@p at home, I've got my little bell so SWMBO knows when I need something, I might just rig it with a pulley and string into the kitchen so I know she'll hear me :)
Thanks for the kind words guys, even as a newbie its nice to know, and yes that first pint will be ambrosia!

A worthy cause indeed although I think I'd rather do a 20 mile swim or a 50 mile bike ride than give up drinking for a whole month!!! I'm sure those who know you will know what a sacrifice that is.

Get well son mate.
