Hi, ive have just syphoned my fist Larger in many years, in to the keg, can any one tell me how long to leave to let it get to the best taste. It says 2 to 3 weeks on the label, but i was wondering if the taste would improve if i left it longer.

Also, my favourite Larger is Becks, and my favourite Beer is John Smiths Magnet, would any one know of any thing that would help me acquire a similar taste to those two.

Just one more thing, would any one know how to brew a light refreshing low alcohol larger, by using a kit + other ingredients.

Thanks in advance.

four weeks would be better, can you chill it if so then even longer.

can't help with lagers but AG and extract versions of magnet

Magnet
25 litre batch OG 1040 ABV 4% 37 units of colour 32.5 EBU

PALE MALT 3250 gms (replace with 2.1 kg of dried malt or 2.44 kg malt extract)
BLACK MALT 41 gms
SUGAR 580 gms Added to Boiler

HOPS Boil time 90 minutes

TARGET 31 gms

Yeast of your choice.

if it is a 1kg sugar kit reduce the sugar to 0.5 kg will take it down nearly 1% can't help with a choice of lager though

Thanks mild man, i really do appreciate you taking the time to give me the advise, i cant chill my Larger YET, but i hope to get an old fridge, take off the surrounding case and build a new case around it, big enough to hold a keg.

So I'll have to give it 4 weeks for now. i really want to compare it at its best, with pub bought Larger.

In the past, i have brewed some as good as pub Larger and Bitter, and some absolute putrid rubbish even when using the same kits. And i never found out what caused the difference.

Can i ask, what AG - ABV - and EBU stand for?

Thanks.

AG: All Grain (as opposed to using kits or extracts)

ABV: (Percentage) Alcohol By Volume

EBU: International standard for measuring bitterness of beers, European Bittering Units.

BTW: (by the way ;))
Lager: A type of beer.
Larger: Bigger than.
Sorry.
