Hi all

i started a lager kit about 4 weeks ago, and its ready to bottle, thing is with holidays etc i am not going to be able to bottle it until next week (week 5) it is in a airtight fermenter with Airlock on it, will it be ok do you think or have i ruined it?

Thanks all

chris

I think the only way to tell is to open it up.

If its air tight it should be very clear after 5 weeks, prep your barrel or bottles before you open it and pray to the brew monkeys.

Don't worry. It will be fine. I've left kit beers on the yeast for longer than that and they have been absolutely fine for it.

It will be absolutely fine :thumb:
Leave it alone until you are ready to bottle/keg it :thumb:

Chris,
I hate to say it but your beer is utterly ruined. You should send it to me for proper disposal! ;)

It'll be just fine. I've left beers in the primary for 5 weeks before.

TS is spot on!
You think nothing of leaving brews in the keg for 8 to 12 weeks.
As for bottle conditioned, it can be well over a year.
Yeast being present in both situations.
