Hi all I have just bottled my first ever home brew kit I tasted it before hand and it was really nice apart for it being flat,so anyway the instructions say 1 heaped teaspoon of sugar into 500ml bottle and leave in dark warm place for one week then cool. It looked very clear in the syphon tube but cloudy in the bottle will this clear while it fizzes up... Please anyone put my mind at ease I'm scared of messing up my beer 😁

hi ash. you're beer will look cloudy due to the beer and yeast hitting the bottle. its normal. just give them time to condition. ul need to realise earlier than later that time is you're best friend with a good clear beer. instructions with kits should be discarded and a 3-3 rule applied (3 weeks in primary and 3 conditioning) although saying that 2 weeks either way on each wouldn't be bad either but as you're rooting for clear beer the longer the better for both phases.
ps sterillizing and sanitizing is one of the most overlooked practices for a first time home brewer so do urself a favour and buy some starsan.

hope this helps.

Thanks put my mind at rest and as for sanitising I used the powder sachet that came in the kit seemed to be OK for the bucket so time will tell can't wait now patience is not my strong point but Im learning

Without trying to worry you but I once asked a question about priming sugar / 500ml bottle and the general consensus was 'about 3g per bottle, or roughly two thirds tsp', seems that you might have used twice that amount so be prepared for some quite fizzy beer, hopefully no bottle bombs.......

Hopefully things will be OK most of the bottles are plastic I'm guessing they take more to split.. The glass ones are swing top fingers crossed
