Any thoughs on the whiff??

+1 on leaving it to ferment out, see what it's like when it's done.
Hope it comes good

Check forums, loads of people have reported smells etc but leaving for a while usually clears!

As other say, don't panic, I've had stuff that really bites your nose if left with a lid on, turbo cider can smell really off, it will be fine ;)

Smell has subsided alittle now grav has dropped to 1.008, sadly I didnt use enough sugar looks like ill get 3.5% if im lucky, Il have to drink twice as much I guess!!

How long has it been in the fermenter? I leave mine in there for at least 10 days. If it's a one can kit it might go lower than that still.
Edit; only just noticed the thread title, if it's only been 5 days so far i'd def leave it a bit longer

I made the Kit (1 can) on Friday this is its 6th day of fermentation, I have kept the room at 23 degrees which I am thinking is a little warm now, its still producing gas so I guess it will drop. Im like an expectant farther, Im probably being over sensitive with it..

The first kit i ruined said ferment stage 1 without sugar (2 can) then after a few day 3 -5 add to barrel with half a teaspoon of sugar per pint and second ferment for 2 weeks

This kit said add wort sugar all together and leave in fermenting bin for 2 weeks, I guess I then transfer it to barrell and condition for anothe week or so...

Im slowly getting the idea, so much to take in though!

Once you've done a few brews you'll have a nice routine. Before you start kegging have a read up on setting your keg up properly, it'll save you any headaches further down the line :thumb:

No really to do with your brew, Jaffa, but ....

This reminded me of an early episode of River Cottage, when Hugh .... had the brilliant idea to make some beer for the chaps helping him to clear the area. When he had topped of the FV with water he tried the wort and didn't like it at all. Of course, he hadn't started/finished the fermentation yet ....
