Evening all,
I'm currently attempting my 2nd Homebrew batch and was wondering if I could ask a few questions if that's ok..
My first attempt was with Youngs Brew Buddy kit doing a lager that came with it. It turn out disgusting and ended up down the drain.
I'm now 2 days in to brewing a Brewferm Tarwebier and all's going good so far (I think ;) ).
My question is that I was told it'd be ok to bottle it into 2ltr plastic bottles in another 7 days time but I'm unsure how much sugar I should put in to each bottle prior to bottling??
Any help and advice will be gratefully appreciated :)

Sam

usually 3gms ish per 500ml bottle so scale uppards. I find 2 litre bottle a bit too much to drink in one go most of the time

I would also give it 14 day's in the fermenter, so bottle the weekend after this one coming :thumb:

The brewferm kits usually come witha little paper booklet that tells you how much sugar to use for the whole batch, you could then divide it up by how many bottles you have.

I did the youngs brewbuddy lager kit a few months back, and it was just ok, and i poured it down my throat :D . Better using 500ml bottles like magners etc, or even buy some brown pet bottles to get you going.

I find the easiest way to prime is to draw off a pint or so from the fermenter, add the required amount of sugar for the whole batch and heat in a pan for 10 mins. Once it's cool, pour it into you bottling bucket and siphon the remainder from the fermenter into the bottling bucket.

This method ensures that the sugars are fully dissolved & mixed into the batch evenly (so no over or under carbonation).

Evening all, more advice needed if that's ok?
My brew was going great but it seems to have stopped doing anything for the past couple of days..
It's been going since NYE and was just wondering if I should think about bottling it sooner rather than later.
Thanks in advance
Sam

Hi Sam, It could well have finished by now, do you have a hydrometer? If not I'd be tempted to bottle it a day or two after frequent bubbling has stopped.

Hi, I checked my brew with my hydrometer and it seemed it was ready to be bottled. I used BigDave's method of mixing the sugar in a couple of pints first and then bottled it up. I can't wait to taste it as my first brew went down the drain.
Many thanks for all the tips guys it was very much appreciated :)
