Hmm, not sure I'd read so much about Anchor Steam on brew forums, when I tried it it didn't seem anything special. Maybe not my taste or just the bottle stored too long. If it gets enough votes I shall have to try it again.

I'm with you on this one, I know it's rated very highly but I always found it mediocre.
 
I genuinely cannot believe how this match is going.

Maybe Timmy could be a contender?
I'm not surprised at all. Landlord is a lovely beer, its been around a long time and it's pretty widely available. Anchor Steam, despite its reputation, is not all that special, isn't as readily available and has only been around regularly in the UK for 5-10 years.

I think as the contest goes on it'll be the classics that win out, if only because they're what most people have tried.
 
Picked up a bottle of Anchor steam at Tesco today - Duval was the only other world cup beer they had that I haven't tried. Looking forward to trying a couple of beers that I wouldn't normaly pick up :hat:
