Hi all, after having my last 3 ag brews stuck at 1020 i now have one thats reached expected gravity after two weeks and is still bubling away like a goodun, question is do i now bottle or wait longer and if so how much longer,i dont want it to end up dry. :wha:

John you need to wait until it stops or you will have bottle bombs. Once the yeast has stopped it will continue to ferment and clean up after itself, an important part of the process. Also it won't clear if the yeast is still active.

What is it gravity at the moment?

You could chill it and drop the yeast, but as mentioned above you're best to let it finish.

If it goes FAR below your expected FG then you need to look at your mash temps as there may be more fermentable sugars than expected.

thanks for your quick reply grays and Kev, its a Wadworth JCB from GW book it should have an OG of 1048 mine was 1050 and a FG of 1012 mine is now at 1010. also it did stop (stopped bubbling) after about a week but started up again about 3 days ago.

If you get a constant reading for 3 days then you are fine to clear it and bottle. I would put it into a clean FV and put it somewhere cool if it is stable.

cheers Grays will keep an eye on it and do what you say, bloody weird this brewing did about 30 ag brews all went very well no problems
whatsoever then had 3 stuck brews on the trot and now this one.
