I was sent out to do the shopping today. Well at 4 for £6 it would have been rude not to

2 old favorites and 2 new Beers to try. I know im going to love the Elgoods Black Dog and the Adnams Broadside as they are tried and trusted favourites of mine. Looking forward to the Old Crafty Hen which I will try later. The Bishops Farewell is an experiment and a chance for Oakham Brewery to get into my good books. I have yet to have a good pint from Oakham (even though some recommend them highly) but that could be down to the pubs and not the beer so will give them a chance with a bottled ale.

Wouldn't mind giving the Oakham a try. Tried a couple of Oakham ales, and both been really nice. Might have to pop Tesco and get some (assume was from Tesco?)

Yes from Tesco. Normaly shop at Morrisons though :whistle:

Old Crafty Hen

Me likey likey very much. Very smooth and well balance. Full bodied and packed with flavour. Some nice hop tang but without any harsh bitterness and hides it's 6.5% abv very well. You could get into trouble with this quite easy. It drinks very easy and could be quaffed with no problem. It is on my find a clone list along with many many others...... :lol: :lol: .

spotted old crafty the other day in morrisons, they do the 4 for £5.50, not sure if the crafty hen is in with the selection but i did fancy. will pick it up on your recommendation.
