Well my first ever WOW is clearing nicely in a 5 litre water container
found another DJ in the shed and now have 2 more on the go!
I hope this stuff is nice! Sure it is :)

I haven't had a go of this WOW yet I will though

have you not taken pic's through the process :) I love looking at other peoples pic's of brews :) I always add them when I can :D

In other words

I WANNA SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

WOW is Wurzel's Orange Wine. I'm not entirely happy about the sick analogy, but if you could imagine a transparent stomach in the moment just prior to upchucking, the ‘lava lamp effect’ of an active WOW probably isn't dissimilar.

 might just do it now just 2 see what it does look like lol

got a load of DJ today so tomorrow I am juice hunting (ribena on offer also so I will do that also)

so I will put one on lol I didn't see that effect in your pics moley :) I will just have to find out :D how long is the process about?

For best results it should be allowed 4-6 weeks from starting to bottling, and then at least a month in the bottle. There was a video by tubby_shaw in the original thread but I just went to fetch the link and it's broken. Lava lamp effect is at its best around days 2-5.

Sorry about the sick analogy - thats mainly down to Mrs Twist lol
It's difficult to see past that to the loveliness that evolves from it i suppose.

i remember an old fella telling me to make orange wine, he said its disgusting for the first year but turns into something amazing over time. sound right? or is it always fermented sick?

While in lodgings during the mid 90's I was drinking juice wines every other week. My landlady was a great winemaker who learned everything from her father. Every now and then he would bring his 'drain cleaner' around for us all to sup because he didn't like to throw anything away. The 'drain cleaner' was always better than anything I could make, even now.

On one visit he accidently included a couple of bottles of 1973 Orange Wine. Being typical heathens at the time, we all polished it off in half pint glasses. I have to say, even after all these years, it has to be the best homemade wine that I have had the pleasure to drink.

Just bottled my 1st batch and its beautiful. Mrs twist quite liked it too :D drinking 1 bottle now and saving the other 3 to mature. I didnt top up at all and was only left with 4 bottles after racking and bottling.
Its got a lovely fruity taste and is crystal clear. You can taste the alchohol in it as i used 1kg sugar instead of the 800g in the recipe :D

It doesn't have to be done in DJs, it's perfectly acceptable to start it in a covered bucket for the first few days :thumb:
