Ive got 50gms of Goldings
200ml Black treacle
150ml Malt Extract (liquid)...
and I don't want to throw them away
I need some ideas from you (more) intelligent chaps as to
whacking then in a kit (no AG stuff), and getting something that will work
My only idea was a Brupaks Kit of some sort...
So get you're thinking caps on guys!!
sorry no prizes..well maybe a free bottle to the best brewed suggestion
 
For the extra fermentables I was thinking 500gm white sugar (already got) and 500gm mucovado sugar (already got) and 2 cups of expresso, plus the additions listed in my original post...WDYT???

and brew a bit short
 
Not sure you need to brew it short (though you might appreciate the additional head space...) some dme might be a good swap for (at least some of) the sugar if it's available where ever you get the kit.
Wilko velvet stout is meant to be a good base kit too is you have one localish.

so will bear that in mind

You could add the malt extract and the goldings to a woodfords wherry kit, and with the left over treacle make some ginger cake :whistle:

Half of my hops are going into a wherry next week. Don't want put the malt in as I find it maltier enough already, thanks for the reply anyway.
 
well here we go.. a quick review..and its only been in the bottles a week
Coopers Stout
600DME
500gm Musco Sugar
Half tin of Treacle (found and expired in cupboard)
Half tin of Malt Extract (found and expired in cupboard)
2 shots of expresso
30 grams of Goldings simmered for 15 minutes
all mixed in FV..yeast added
I can tell you folks that this is just WONDERFUL..BUT
very calorific.
Ive got to keep my grubby hands off it now and let it mature..
Coffee???? Just a hint after swallowing..and its there -WOW
You know you want this one
Make it...you won't be disappointed
