    This lager was my first ever brew...and it's really good...I was really suprised how good it tasted... I left a few bottles for about 3 months and it tasted even better...With a really nice head! If you brew it right you'll love it!

    Hi, I have been brewing a coopers pilsner 20ltrs for about 5 days now, instead of the said 23ltrs and it seems to have stopped...its in the cupboard uner the stairs and have been no lower than 19°...usually I have seen brews go well over a week in the first fv before needing to be bottled...

    thanks that's what i thought...was just second guessing myself really! with regards to this question I am brewing Coopers Real Ale! 23 ltrs! the OG was 1041 and the FG was 1010! the temp was fluctuating between 19C and 21C. The only problem is I followed the instructions about priming...

    Hey Joe, Thanks for the advise! I was worried I might have ruined it! as for keeping the beer in the FV (closed fermentation) for longer, will this not make the beer taste stale? I thought you had to keg/bottle as soon as fermentation had finished?! If not then that makes life a lot easier...

    Thanks Bernie! I'll keep an eye on the barrel and make sure it doesn't explode on me! Was worried the ale might taste too bitter with all that priming sugar?! What about the conditioning time? do you think I should leave it for longer to allow the bubbles to reduce? maybe a month? or longer...

    Also If over-primed, what will this do to my beer? be just too fizzy? or turn it into a bitter wine? Is it better to just start again or go with it and see how it turns out?
