What to do with all this crystal malt

I've just been given 6 kg of crystal malt for free, that has a use by date of February 14. Any ideas about how I can use this in one or two brews as a base?

Brew Dogs Dead Pony Club Clone?

Anyone have a really good effort at cloning this beer using an all grain method. Has to be my favourite at the minute and would love to come close to it. Williams Bros Joker IPA would also be good.

    all grain ipa

I am trying to establish at what point I get my gravity reading pre and post boil. The temp has an effect. If I pull it straight from the sparged wort at a temp of around 65°C there is a different reading when it actually cools. What is the true gravity for my ABV calculation?

    Hop drop

Quick question....if Beer Smith says 0 mins to drop the hop into the brewpot is that once the boil is finished THEN do I let them steep until the temp is ready to transfer to the FV prior to yeast adding.

    Homebrew Suppliers Northern Ireland

This might be a bit on the late side and you may well be already aware of these sites......I'm in Ballymena and find it hard to get to Belfast to get supplies. Although there is now a farm shop doing stuff. I'm relatively new to the whole thing. http://www.geterbrewed.com...

    Bottle capping

What is the general consensus on capping bottles and sanitising. Do I just cap straight from the packet or should I sterilise the caps first. Probably sounds a bit over cautious but I don't want to run the risk of my beer being spoiled.

    secondary fermentation and priming

I am in a bit of a dilemma and again looking for some advice guys. My St Peters IPA has been fermenting at a constant 19C for 8 days. I have yet to take a reading. I have a keg that I was planning on putting it into for a few days at that temp before bottling. My questions are: 1. Is this wise...

    Mouldy bottles

I have gathered about 50 or so bottles over the last few months. Soaked them in hot water to remove labels. I've noticed that there is some mould at the base of of some of the Old a Golden Hen bottles. Any tips on how best to get these cleaned before sanitising and bottling. I have a couple of...

    STC 1000 PROBLEMS

Guys thanks for all your help. STC 1000 hooked up to brew belt which is sitting at the base of the FV. Currently just laid down St Peters IPA. Temp looking good at 20. Fingers crossed. During amateur hour and in my excitement I didn't take a big enough sample for the hygrometer to float. You...

    STC 1000 PROBLEMS

Cheers guys. My neighbour is a spark and he is wiring it for me. He's gonna use the brew belt as the heat source. I'll let you know how that goes when I lay down my brew.
