    Wooden cask

Not atall! Any advise welcome I would assume that it would be alot more cumbersome... I did read about using sulphur wicks etc. I was wondering though, if storing spirits in there up until the point of putting the beer in there would suffice for sterilisation?

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

it's finished fermenting at 9%abv... I siphoned it off, careful not to disturb the sediment, and so I tried a sample today. Tastes like beer... definitely strong. It's still quite cloudy/milky, and leaves a creamy layer around the glass. Will this disappear over time?

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

Ok, false alarm. Things are looking good. The yeast is actually still fizzing away quite nicely with a steady bit of foam.. not going mad though, but still steady. The smell seems to have mellowed out too. I think it may just overshoot the 8% mark at this rate.

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

so do you think it's game over? I have had a smell in the bin just to check, and I'm not sure what i'm smelling for. It definitely smells alcoholic. but it also has a slight stale beer smell to it, like a warm beer left out over night. Not sure if that is just the normal smell of...

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

I'm a little concerend. Day 2 and the foaming has dramatically slowed down. I can see patches of the surface of the beer. It seems to be moderately sparkling like a fizzy wine, rather than foaming? Been a bit of up/down with temp.. has been up to 28*c at times. Cann see see/hear a bit of...

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

Ok, the Diablo kit says 9 litres... but in the instructions I counted 5 liters of water... And then a graph says to use 500g - per 5litres.. Does this mean I should use, in total, 9 liters of water and aprox 950gs of sugar?

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

I think I'm goign to go with the Brewferms Tripple for my first attempt at this kind of beer. A brew-shop near me stocks it so I am going to buy 2 cans of extract (makes 9litres per can) tomorrow and do it all in one go (18 litres in total). Any advice/tips on how to ensure that I make it...

Cheers for that! I will look into them! The ultimate goal is to get something that tastes as close to Delerium Tremens as possible.

What to use to make strong pale/blonde ale?

Hi guys, I have brewed some simple mild and stout twice before from a kit. I am looking to brew something like a strong pale/blonde ale (8% - 9% vol). Ideally I would like something that tastes similar to Delirium Tremens or La Chouffe. If anyone could tell me of any kit's that could produce...
