How soon after pitching should fermentation show

Great news. Got home and fermentation has started. Seems quiet to my three previous brews - but a couple of cms of beautiful froth. And lovely hoppy aroma too. Thanks for all your reassurances - got me through a v e r y long day at work. Also appreciate the discussion, and disagreement, about...

How soon after pitching should fermentation show

No way, does that happen every time? Is it cause it's sprinkled? Weird; it said to sprinkle in instructions, I'm sure. Ta Colin And thanks for reassurance - would reduced yeast count have an impact on fermentation time then? Or would it mean less sugar metabolised, and therefore less...

How soon after pitching should fermentation show

Thanks guys - will hold off on the panicking until tomorrow morning then. Here's hoping it'll be bubbling away when I get home tonight ... Colin Oh, and I sprinkled it on top. Mix had been pretty well roughed up before then though.

How soon after pitching should fermentation show

Hi, started a St Peter's IPA with some extra cascade last night. Was hoping to see signs of frothy fermentation (as has happened with previous wonderful Ruby Red), but no signs whatsover. Am I being a bit premature? What sort of delay is there from pitching to frothing? I thought it was 12...

Thanks Baz, Dennis and err ... Dave the Robot. Don't really know if it was stupid or not. Didn't add sugar with my Coopers IPA kit. Not sure if I needed to. If it'll all be fine. If I should now. Or whatever. Posted it viewtopic.php?f=36&t=43550 Colin

    Sugar sugar

Hiya, a few questions about the use of sugar/brewing enhancers during the brew process. First, if using a kit (Coopers IPA tin then into a barrel topped up with water with yeast sprinkled on top) how vital is it that the sugar/brewing enhancer goes in first and gets mixed in before the yeast is...

    Cheers all

Hi everyone, I'm completely new to home-brewing. Just got my Coopers starter kit, and spent the night before last unfixing and fixing shelves in a cupboard to accommodate. Last night I started the brew. But I've possibly done an unbelievably stupid thing ... which I guess is what your first...
