    Liquorice flavour

    One of my favourite commercial brews is Black pearl by wooden hand brewery, it has a very plesent liquorice taste. How can I get this into a similar brew, is it an infusion of root or the soft black liqourice type,how much to use in a 5 Gal. extract recipe. :wha: :cheers: Thanks

    beer brewed

    Sundew 5 Gal Abbij 4.5 Gal Hobgoblin clone 5 Gal wilco Pilsner 5 Gal in FV Wilco pilsner & 2 X hoppy copper in cupboard Sundew all gone very nice Abbij keep testing, hard not to drink it Hobgoblin conditioning-a bit over hopped need new scales Happy brew days everyone-Cheers :cheers:

    Thanks morethanworts, I have primed a 750 Ml bottle & put the brew in it & into the water bath with my next brew, will check in the morning if its gassing.

    brewferm abbey carbonation

    seals were greased, just tested with CO2 bulb & overpressure valve hissing, soapy water tested cap 7 shraeder valve OK, just the over pressure hissing. Sorry did'nt take OG, Used spraymalt in the brew which was a double( 2 kits) & kegged with sugar. Temperature is 20 c been like that for 8 days...

    BREW FERM ABBEY carbonation

    My abbey beer finished in the FV last week, it was then put in pressure keg with priming sugar & kept in warm place to carbonate. So far no carbonation & stil very cloudy, I was'nt expecting it to clear for a while yet but did expect a few bubbles, it does have a nice flavour & no off smells...

    MALTO DEXRIN

    Is Malto dextrin the same as Malt extract Or Maltose, I think its malt extract the recipe only asks for 4 OZ :wha: The recipe is a hobgoblin clone I found somewhere on a brewing forum, Yes it does specifically ask for malto dextrin. Just had a trawl on the web & found Youngs body brew...

    extract to replace grain

    Hoping for some help, I have found a grain recipe for a clone Leffe brown but don't have the kit or ability yet to AG brew. So was wondering if there is a formulae for substituting DME for the grain, is it as easy as just weight for weight ? Would like to make this & share the recipe. :cheers:

    Abbey ale

    Put a brew down last night, Brewferm Abbey, Think I may have been a bit greedy as I used two cans total 18 litres with the addition of medium spraymalt instead of sugar, Had a real shock this morning :o . The lid was being forced of the FV by the vigourous fermentation, airlock had blocked...

    new here

    Hi, new here, just started to brew again, had cider bit on the strong side but pleasent drink & merlot for the misses. I enjoy most beers n really like the belgian dark beers. :cheers:
