    3D printing uses in homebrew

I'll be excited when we can print metals and plastics cheaply. Until then I best develop my 3D CAD work!

    Lentil Sugar wash ~13%

http://s73.photobucket.com/user/ike2k4/media/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0022.jpg.html I think you can find a way to the last-minute tthrough that. It shows the bottom of The dj after racking. All the colour stripped From the lentles, maybe a less colourful pulse(?) could be used. Or sugar and water...

In bulk it retains that twinge, but it does clear more than that. The bottles which are roughly 7% and carbonating drop very clear

    Using Spirits in Beer

I've had a bottle of "BOGGART RUM PORTER" from a local manchester brewery. It was a cracking pint.

    New Hoppy Youngs kits.

I would be tempted to brew them to the kit instructions with the brewing sugar... most commercial breweries use normal sugar to get the correct abv' and balance.

    New Hoppy Youngs kits.

Thanks for the extra info LTB, the forum is a bit flaky at the moment, try to avoid any crazy symbols like pound signs or formatting of any sort. The recent forum update struggles with anything other than text, numbers and basic punctuation

    Lentil Sugar wash ~13%

Over due a couple of pictures: DJ at the end of fermenting: (old rosie yeast started next to it for another purpose) And i've racked off a single bottle and added priming sugar. I don't really expect it to carbonate but worth a try, may be useful with mixer... but i really should have split it...

    Hello from manchester

Which side of Manchester are you in? There is a good shop in Stockport, and I believe another one in the Salford area. I tend to use julies and homebrew supplies (I think that's what its called) in Stockport, they both have websites :)

    Yet another TC post..

Cider and particularly 'turbo' cider isn't drinkable quickly, if its not infected and you bottle it then try a bottle in about 6months - 1 year. time makes a massive difference.

    Yet another TC post..

Vinegar taste is a bad sign, are you sure its not just dry and sharp? Keep hold of them in bulk for a while eitherway. If it has gone bad and turned to cider vinegar then it'll be good for cooking. Fruit flies are usually the culprit for the infection

    Lentil Sugar wash ~13%

A sugar wash is a new one for me, so im unsure how wine yeast will work. There may be a reason why bread yeast is used.. But its worth a try with some wine yeast if you have it in. Yeast was only a 7g packet. So about a teaspoon full. Its currently a very pale yellow in colour as the yeast...

    Oxi Clean

Relax, there is nothing to worry about yet. Your first yeast would have been fine to pitch I would expect, but if its gone just pitch the next one as soon as it has cooled down to temp. The higher temp will also not have done any harm, it sounds like you have done everything right except...

    Lentil Sugar wash ~13%

I'm breaking this out of another thread slightly rather than cluttering it: I've done a gallon as a little test as follows: 1.1kg sugar 100g lentles water to the shoulder ( still had a bit of a blow out through the tube when i topped up) 1 Packet of fast acting baking yeast, asda or tesco...

    Oxi Clean

I tend to use oxy clean for everything(glass, metals, plastics) followed by a thin bleach solution for cleaning and sterlising. Both require a lot of rinsing, but have a certain cheap factor about them! if I was to change it would be to remove the bleach and use a no rinse sanitizer such as...
