5 live In my opinion - Yorkshire pudding

I'm a Yorkshireman and that's how we used to have it when we were kids. Now married to a Cornish maid and living in Cornwall the Mrs thinks I'm daft when I suggest it.

SOLD We are due to move house next year and unfortunately will not have room for my current brewery setup. My plan is to only bottle my beers so I am putting up for sale my home made Kegerator setup. Full height larder fridge set up to take 4 x 19L kegs. Comes complete with all required...

What are you listening to tonight.

Raising Sand album by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. A little different from the old Robert Plant that everyone knows, but excellent music.

    Beer foaming when bottling

I'll try a few more bottles doing it that way. Thankyou

    Beer foaming when bottling

I prefer to do everything closed from fermenting to kegging etc, so I ferment under a very minimum positive pressure.

    Beer foaming when bottling

That makes sense thankyou. I'll do as you suggest and de-pressurise the fermenter, ill leave it until the weekend and then try again.

    Beer foaming when bottling

I'm losing a quarter of it out the top as foam.

    Beer foaming when bottling

Looking for advice please. Just started to bottle my latest batch of Old Peculiar clone, which I've made three times before. Exactly the same recipe apart from the addition of 100g Torrified Wheat to aid head retention. Fermented under minimal pressure in an all rounder for two weeks at 20 degs...

    Sparge methods

I like that idea, and as luck would have it I have a nearly empty 1kg pot of peanut butter right here. 👌

    Brew Keg Tap corny kegs

I have 2 of them. Slight dents in the wall, nowhere near the weld, easily pressed out. No problems over the 2 years that I've had them.

Following this thread with interest. I'm in St Austell and just started researching water treatment.

    Kegerator build

I decided on a full height larder fridge that popped up on Marketplace for £60. Used a heated bradawl to get through the sidewall inside plastic skin, then poked around until I was happy there were no pipes before drilling through the tin outside skin. Taps are on the door. The advantage to me...

    Brewzilla gen 4.1?

I think the false bottoms with the single pull ring are slightly smaller outside diameter. The ones with double pull rings were larger and proved difficult to get out and kept bending.

    Sparge methods

I usually sparge by pouring from a jug straight onto the grain bed, but I'm wondering if I would get more efficiency if I put the top plate onto the grain bed and sparged through that? Can anyone suggest a reason not to do it that way? Also, if I were to 'squeeze' the grain after sparging by...

Torrified wheat to aid head retention

I hadn't, does that have the same effect without affecting the taste etc?

Torrified wheat to aid head retention

Thankyou, that'll give me a good starting point.

Torrified wheat to aid head retention

Excellent thankyou. Do you have an approximate % of Torrified that you use?

Torrified wheat to aid head retention

I'm going to try adding Torrified wheat to my Old Speckled Hen recipe when I next brew it, to try and help the head retention in a Corny Keg. Can anyone advise on quantity to try? My normal grain bill for a 23L brew in my Brewzilla Gen 4 is 3.4Kg Pale Maris Otter & 340g Crystal Dark. Also...

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

Just my 2" tri-conical lid so I could use existing hop bong and butterfly valve etc. All 2" triconical so there may be an adaptor available for the Titan.

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

Can anyone advise, does the Titan take the same lid as the All Rounder? I'm looking at my next fermentation vessel and would prefer not to have to replace all my current all rounder 'extras".
