Man Cave, who has one ?

Thats the propane cooking gas for the cooker rings with an auto switch over, when one is used up it continues on the other so I just change the empty one with no supply interruption

    New Toy

yeah not cheap - the 'best' so far is this - but depends on how much you use - https://www.rolling-beers.fr/fr/co2-et-nourrices-pour-gaz/1775-cylindre-de-co2-de-2-kg-plein.html did see a 5kg bottle not cheap but had a 45 € 'swap refil' charge - initial outlay more but then only 45€ to get a...

    New Toy

Yeah did wonder how long it will last - pretty sure there are places around me here in S. France, just a case of finding them, certainly for the next step as i seriously doubt that this one keg will be lonely for long :-)

    New Toy

so, the last brew stoically refuses to ferment down past 1.020, been two weeks past the expected bottle date - still in brew bucket - still has positive pressure through the air lock but no movement so decided it was a good reason to get some new toys - will pick up a sodastream gas cylinder...

    SMaSH

just bottled it - resulted in 21ltr in the bottling bin, the trub had dropped out nicely so it was a nice clear pale gold. SG on bottling was 1.003 so came out a bit chunkier than I was targeting - measured up as 5.6% abv no worries, The taste test flavour was good, the hops were there but not...

    SMaSH

yeah, i would normally use up to 100g dry on a 33ltr brew of this type with a low AA, but all the advice i could find for 'green' hops was 5 x what you would use dry - so went for it - we shall see :-)

    In the Bottle

Today was bottling day for my Bonne Nuit Ale. I was going for a sweet ( ish) stout style but may have not hit the depth of colour I wanted - we shall see, 5kg Marris otter 0.5kg Black Crystal 400ebc 0.5kg Special B 300ebc 0.5kg torrified wheat. 50gms Fuggles for 90 min boil used 50/50 light...

    SMaSH

been out of the loop for a while, now reaching the 'give me my pension you b*st*rds' age' so looking to invest in a corny keg setup shortly, just put a SMaSH in using local hops - they grow wild around me here in S. France, no idea as to type or AA level so after a bit of research and the...
