Had my 2nd SS.
A faint hiss on opening, and a small head.
Very murky looking, I'm sure that was intentional as it's a neipa, no taste of any oxidation wet cardboard. Very hoppy ( too hoppy for me actually). Unfortunately the beer was probably wasted on me as it isn't my favorite style, (I'm to...
Spot on colour, and carbonation, good head today lasted most of the pint, some slight ester notes but a clean taste overall. Very nice pint would have happily had another and would also love the recipe. Not sure on the% anv, but very nice. Thanks Santa.
I have used Murphy's this year, I was happy with the service and the report. I had worked out my own water additions several years ago, the report for bitters wasn't hugely different than I had calculated ( which I liked) it did also give profiles for other beers, again I liked that. Overall it...

Rudolph Rocket fuel
Good psst on opening. Small head, lasted about half the pint. Darker than anticipated (was expecting it to be golden, not that makes any difference to the beer) it was an amber beer, nice and clear. Carbonation levels medium.
Good floral hit as expected, and wasn't heavy...

I brewed one of my standard beers last week (recipe below), but decided I would add porridge oats this time to increase haze and mouthfeel.
Mashed for around 60 mins and boiled for 90mins. Used S-05 (yes it was past it's BBE by a few months), would normally use a fresh yeast and make a...
I'm a tree hanger myself, far more comfortable then being in a tent or bivi. I also camp out at least once a month all year, the cold can be dealt with and is fine,, it's the wet I hate.
Export stout 7%
A little hiss on opening, but carbonation better than expected
Small head on pouring which unfortunately disappeared very quickly
A bit of a sour taste, and a slight yeast after taste
I tend to like my stouts with a bit more coffee taste, but that is just my preference.
This was...
Milk stout 4.0%
Nice hiss on opening
Nice head that lasted all of the pint
A very good stout, I'm not sure I detected any lactose/ milk component, but a very nice stout. My stouts normally end up being to lively and gushing, this wasn't. Would love your recipe to make it myself.
Would happily...
