    Clear plastic PET bottles

Just my tuppence worth from my personal observations. I've been using the same Coopers and Easybrew PET bottles for around 18 months now. Every batch of beer I've made (16 batches so far) I've included around 10 glass bottles (crown capped) for longer term storage. With every batch there has...

    Plastic coopers brown bottles , **** ?

@Scott Begbie and @Slid Thanks for the comments! The bottles were being stored empty without tops at a temp of around 20C in a kitchen cupboard, kept there until I had enough to start a new batch. I then sanitised with Harris no rinse sanitiser in tap water at around 10C. They were then left...

    Plastic coopers brown bottles , **** ?

I've been using 96 of amber PET bottles and the original caps since last October (2020) so that's around 8 months now. 48 are Coopers, and 48 are Easybrew (from Brew2bottle) The bottles of both brands appear identical however the Easybrew cap does not have an insert. Each bottle has been used...

    Priming 500ml flip top bottles

Yes, pretty close to 3g. I've used 2 different types so far . 1. Coopers Drops - I don't currently have a pack with me so I cannot physically check. Apparently though the pack weight is 250g and you get approx 80 of them. Taking those as correct that's a little over 3g per drop. Not sure what...

    Priming 500ml flip top bottles

I don't think one is enough. I generally use 2 drops per 500ml bottle and it's been perfect. I would pop another one in per bottle, then have them at 20C again for two weeks.

Anybody use a water filter rather than bottled water?

I have recently got back into homebrewing from kits after a 25 year break. This time, I am filtering my water using a Brita Water Filter jug. My local water has a definite chlorine taste to it. Yes, filtering with the jug is time consuming - it takes me around a couple of hours to do 23 L / 40...
