Yes, coupling failure's in there. (Tried to C&P but phone wouldn't let me).

Agreed, not my favourite people either, but they cannot lie about the product recall notices nor accident stats...

    Cyclists.

BTW, there's a fair few product recall notices and worrying accident stats relating to child tagalong use and hitch mechanism failure in link below (though I appreciate that it's published by a very interested party)...

    Cyclists.

@Chippy_Tea, re analogy ref... To clarify, the primary issue I see is 'single point of failure'. Mechanical failure with 'redundancy' is a much better option (as required to be employed in design by any motor manufacturer). My second point is separating out probability of failure from degree...

    Cyclists.

@Chippy_Tea, don't disagree with you re. probability of bolt shear (it was just an example). Though failure through fatigue rather than load is more likely. But there are other modes of failure. I've witnessed carbon seat post failure (without tagalong) which was pretty spectacular on a trail...

    Cyclists.

All eggs in one basket? Single point of catastrophic failure on connection of tagalong w/ seat post. Sheared bolt of fastening in traffic on busy road would look like a butchers shop at closing time! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_nut?wprov=sfla1

Stuck fermentation on a Mangrove Jack's kit?

@TrevTheBev @Twopan, one of the issues I used to find from 'over' carbonation, (putting aside whether or not it suits the actual brew style) was when trying to pour from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass. With too much fizz in the brew, no matter how slowly, nor how carefully I tried to pour so...

Stuck fermentation on a Mangrove Jack's kit?

Each to their own, but would personally use less for a Pale Ale. Think 90g dextrose for 23 litres would be plenty (1.8 vol CO2). I'd only go up to 150g for something like a Belgian or a Wheat, aiming for 2.4 vol CO2. (Festival kits vary the included priming dextrose, depending on style). Good...

Recommend me a lager kit and hops to add

@Milesey, would strongly recommend Festival New Zealand Pilsner (5% ABV) which worked really well for me. Believe this kit uses MJ's warmer fermenting 'lager' yeast. So, for a lager brew, it's an uncharacteristically clean brew and relatively quick, with no need for usual 'cool temp'...

10 Day Fermentation Ending, But I need to Travel?

@Victor Churchill, (at risk of others shooting me down) I think there's generally confusion between the naming convention for phases of yeast fermentation activity ('primary' & 'secondary' aka 'conditioning') and the naming convention used for different stages of the typical brew production...

Excessive bottle carbonation - what am I doing wrong?

@RichardMW my galvanised bin lid licking habit is under control! Exercised rarely, and now only when low on stocks of 'extreme' NEIPA. Let us know how you get on with minikegs.

Excessive bottle carbonation - what am I doing wrong?

BTW was finally swayed on metallic issue when, as an experiment, I tasted some tap water left for few days in my cleaned and prepped minikegs vs. tap water left in a glass for same period of time. Minikeg samples were distinctly different. Very much how I imagine it would be like licking an...
