Forget to chill for Hop Stand

As an update, it actually turned out really good and quickly got polished off, I actually I think I prefer it slightly hoppier than the original.

    Inflating Liquid Yest

It’s was perfectly ok in the fridge and well within date. Is it normal to inflate when warm? I’ll prep a starter for when I’m going to use it. Thanks for all the comments and advice. 🙂

    How dangerous is it?

All for time saving, and one less thing to clean, may give it a try next brew day and see how it goes. 🙂

    Inflating Liquid Yest

Hi All, I stupidly left a liquid yeast packet out of the fridge overnight which now looks to have inflated. I’ve put back in the fridge but will this still be ok to use?

    How dangerous is it?

I think I’ll keep cleaning after use, stop worrying and at some point upgrade to stainless.

    How dangerous is it?

Possibly when running wort through a chiller, but up until yesterday I’d never even heard of it, so I’ve honestly no idea how big a deal or likely it is.

    How dangerous is it?

I found myself going down a rabbit hole and reading about the hazards of verdigris on copper, which got me wondering about how dangerous home-brew is/ or isn’t. Do you know anybody who has gotten ill from consumption of home brewed beer (excluding through overindulgence) and if so what was the...

Forget to chill for Hop Stand

This is actually a very good idea, I’d not thought of transferring the original out into the bucket

Forget to chill for Hop Stand

I do, I’m just going to sacrifice any temp control by using it

Forget to chill for Hop Stand

Normally I wouldn’t mind, and to quote my dad “the 2nd pint is always better”, however I’m making for a friends wedding hence my nervousness, plan B may be get another brew on as soon as this is out the fermenter, however that would only have 2 weeks conditioning so that may be a little tight

Forget to chill for Hop Stand

Good idea @chopps, I’ve just populated into Brewfather and that takes me from 15.2 to 42.5, purely from a hop stand perspective. With the boil hops I’m into the high 70s, looking at those numbers I’m debating, clearing out and starting again

Forget to chill for Hop Stand

Fingers crossed for a slightly unplanned but successful beer then 🤞

Forget to chill for Hop Stand

I brewed a Neck Oil clone today, I was meant to hop stand for 10 mins at 80 degrees but forgot to chill so the hop stand was actually circa 94/95, I then chilled and pumped into into the fermenter. Will there be a significant difference with the bitterness, will the bitterness mellow out in the...
