Yes the whole pressure fermenting thing seems a money pit, if it had a tap that Was fitted where the collection vessel is removed then you could at least serve from the vessel. Like we do from barrels. Yes towards the end of the 40 pints you may need gas but only a stubb.

Looking at the various ones on ebay amazon and home brew sites seems there are three sizes. Mine is about the size of pound coin. The ones that say use half tablet look the size of 2pound coin. Or a Crown.

I have two small barrels and one large. The small ones are better. They stay pressurised to the end of the barrel but the large one does need co2 squirts from the little silver top up things.

Had my first pump block but was 50 minutes into the mash so reduced temp for last 10 minutes before the sparge. All sorted with by a sqirt of water down a silicone tube from a hose pipe at the end. Will buy a telescopic pipe after all.

Again on the machine, the two part overflow pipe. Two pipes you scre together A (big) B (small), What is the grain size for A + B, A only, B. I have only used pre weighed packs from Dark Rock so used A+B setup. I am thinking of trying a smaller kit on it.
