    Got given a load of apples today and am going to use a juicer , Do I need to de-pip them first(juicer can take it all) or is it ok to chuck it all in? as I heard pips can make it bitter?

    Thanks for the quick reply, The biggest thing that confuses me is about stopping the fermentation, I like a dry cider so I assume just leaving it to do its job is the best thing, How low is it possible for the SG to go with the yeast I am using?? Thanks :thumb:

    Hi all, Well on my second batch of Zider, I got 19 litres of Tesco value apple juice, Chucked it in a sterilised bin and had a SG reading of about 1048 (aint that acurate) its been brewing for 3 days and the reading is just above 1000, I cant believe its fermenting so fast as the kit I did last...

    Hi mate , Yes I used tesco lemonade bottles , They are hard already, Should I release the pressure a bit dont fancy them exploding on me lol.

    Well I bottled up 18 litres today as my hydrometer hasnt budged for 2 days, Added 2 tsp of sugar per 2 lt bottle, Had a bit of a taste :cheers: and its ok but not as appley as I hoped it would be, Also quite acidic(but nice) and still a little bit yeasty. Will I see signs of second stage...

    I have got a soda stream so I could get busy with the fizzy lol, But I think I will use the tesco 2 litre cheapo lemonade bottles dont see much point in a smaller bottle :cheers: lol.

    Until recently I worked for a big juice company and can get 12 litres of any juice for £3.50 :-)) so will be definatley having a bash using juice next time, If it was up to you would you bottle or keg it?
