    Sediment

I leave the sediment behind, it's not great for My bowel. Sediment is normally only added in certain styles. Mainly wheat Beers, Belgian wit's. I can't drink beer with floaters 🤮

Black Malt - is it what you think?

I have a porter fermenting, this included 500g each of chocolate. brown and dark crystal plus 200g of black malt. All malts added with base malt at the start.

Black Malt - is it what you think?

I mash My dark grains but some brewer's don't. Some like to add all non fermentable malt at mash out, this includes crystal malt. I think @foxy brews like this, it allows him to treat the mash with just base malts and adjust accordingly for the style.

If Santa is looking a pint I need to get the finger out. One more brew planned with English hops. I have first gold, challenger and EKG to use up

Black Malt - is it what you think?

Some brewers cold steep the dark grain, others add at mash out to avoid any harshness.

    WW3

Sad situation, Ukraine is going to be left in ruins. Also the dept they will have to pay back will gripple them. Wars are big business for the usual countries.

    Sam's brew day's

Sorry Dave I haven't been on the ball. This has been sitting at 3 degrees for weeks in the all rounder. Just poured a glass to try, it's nice but the yeast gives slightly too much bubble gum for me. Nice but maybe not true to style. I will transfer it to the keg tomorrow

    Sam's brew day's

I haven't brewed in ages so I got a delivery last week of grain. I don't have any dry yeast so I did a mini mash to get some wort for a starter. 1 kg Minch malt in 2 litres of water. My yeast out of the fridge is a bit lively, this is Yorkshire 1469
