    One for the Capri owners.

The Ford Capri was a missed opportunity in many respects by Ford. It was unfortunately always built down to a price! Most cars are of course, but Ford could have made some very cheap improvements that would have transformed it's weakest aspect.... handling. The problem was the rear axle was so...

    Latest hobby - CNC router

Thanks for those links Andy, I have some minimal background to using Rhino some years back, and I'm not sure I can face up to paying the money for Rhino again, and it's now on 6 rather than 3! I could pick up an OEM licence for reasonable money, but have downloaded Fusion as it looks pretty handy.

    Latest hobby - CNC router

Funnily enough I've very recently started to build a CNC router. Been buying parts off Ebay and Amazon, and am slowly constructing it. I had one about 12-13 years back, but it was home built by someone else and although very nicely done, not rigid enough. The one I'm building now will be bigger...

    Robobrew 3.1.1 not impressed.

That looks very much like someone has assembled the piping, and then spun up the port in the base to tighten it, twisting the silicone in the process. That was the kind of typical mistake I used to see in the motor trade years back, when an untrained lad was let loose to do a job without...

    Curry...!!

I've also always used the one of rice to two of water in any sized container that's appropriate for the serving size. Bring to tiny signs of simmer and lid on for about 15 mins. Has always worked well.

    Keeping chickens

Vegan kitchens are exempt! . . . but we're not vegan..... I note the legislation is from 2014, and I have missed that as been keeping chickens since way before that. I don't think I'm going to stop.....

    Keeping chickens

I take your point, but the scraps are only ever cuttings and peelings from vegetables or fruit. The only cooked food they ever have had is cooked plain white rice. Nothing fed to them is ever salted or in a sauce, or has dressing on it. veg and fruit that is considered too soft(but not mouldy)...

    Keeping chickens

We have 3 chickens in our suburban Croydon garden. 3 is an ideal number. You cannot have one chicken as they are social beasts. They provide eggs and are very happy with various kitchen scraps. They are pretty low maintenance, and we clean out the coop once a week. Layers pellets are bought via...

Mounted and riot police clashed with protesters on London's Whitehall on Saturday.

Indeed! I looked up the figures today. Mortality during the voyage alone was ranging between 12% and 25% depending on source! To get that into context, a full London Routemaster takes 80 people. To hit 12% by the time the journey finishes and the passengers get off 9-10 of them would be dead!

Mounted and riot police clashed with protesters on London's Whitehall on Saturday.

Colston's statue was the subject of complaint and request for removal for years. 11,000 petition signatures were collected for it's removal, and the council eventually agreed to "amend" the plaque on it to include that he was "involved" with the Slave trade. Every statue in a public place to a...

Mounted and riot police clashed with protesters on London's Whitehall on Saturday.

Martin Luther King said "Riots are the language of the unheard" It's easy to read into a riot(and what defines a riot is a matter of opinion) one's own particular bias. But I think his statement is true in it's simplest form. Riots are ugly, but they can be the change, or the start of the...

    Saison Brew - Advice needed

I just did an Elderflower and Hibiscus Saison using the CML Lille yeast. Definitely Citrussy and pepper, and low in phenols. I did ferment fairly low though, max temp was 22c I think. Pretty clean and some nice tartness. My wife likes it for sure!

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Yes, he was very informative and communicative as an Ebay seller as well. I also thought it was very neat and cleanly done. Quality battery in it too!

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Yes, search on Ebay for seller Benpolley. I got mine from his as I've got so many jobs on to do around the house with lockdown, I couldn't face the prospect of a build, and program and setup. So just went for his prebuilt. It's been great! His instructions were also almost perfect, and it was a...

    How Tall are You.

6'1" Da yoof is definitely getting way taller though. When I was in my early 20's and had stopped growing I used to see a lot of foreheads at my eye height amongst my contemporaries. Now if I'm looking at a bunch of mates in their late teens and early 20's I'm looking at chins!

Your views on how the Tories have handled Coronavirus.

I watched his press conference this morning in entirety. Like him or loathe him( I know which I prefer!), he is a very clever man, and made a very clever selection of words, that skimmed along a legal border and veered into grey area. It's a carefully orchestrated melange of suggestions and...

Will you drink in Wetherspoons when pubs re-open?

Yes, and when I was last there I was in it! Sadly they're not in Gatwick, my most used airport.

Will you drink in Wetherspoons when pubs re-open?

I will be avoiding them completely unless impossible to. Impossible to will be stuck at an airport where they're the only place serving palatable beer, or... if I'm with a group of friends who can't be persuaded anywhere else(very unlikely).
