Advice needed on bypassing thermostat on fridge for kegerator

This is worth a try! I'm not sure where the temperature sensor is actually located now, but I like your thinking

Advice needed on bypassing thermostat on fridge for kegerator

Thanks Bigcol and Spoon for your helpful replies - I'll try setting up the STC this weekend and hopefully will work well! I have indeed tried setting the fridge down to the lowest setting of 4c. The built in temperature display shows it's hitting 4 but it never does, I think the compressor is...

Advice needed on bypassing thermostat on fridge for kegerator

Is it? I was under the impression from a lot of sources that kegged beer definitively has to be dispensed at 3.33c and that a tap tower would need to be around this temperature too to avoid foaming. I've certainly not tried this, if it's 7c do you just pressurise to compensate? Hopefully I can...

Advice needed on bypassing thermostat on fridge for kegerator

Hi! I have a wine cooler which I'm wanting to turn into a kegerator. It advertises that it goes down to 4 degrees but it never quite hits that mark. Usually about 7 degrees. I've had a look and the sensor is on the top panel, so it looks like I can maybe bypass this by shorting it and then...

    Wine cooler as a Kegerator

Hi all, I've got the opportunity to buy a second hand wine cooler at a great price, the Samsung RW13EBSS Dimensions are H: 33 inches, W: 20 inches, D: 23 inches Seems like it would be big enough to get two cornies in with room for a C02 cylinder too (though that's not essential for me). I...

    Pump to recirculate during mashing

Just to throw a couple more options in, I'm also looking at buying a pump and had seen this one https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/magnetically-coupled-pump/ and the same one from Keg Kingdom a bit cheaper: https://www.kegkingdom.co.uk/products/brew-pump-3000 (I've not ordered from either...

    Attaching elements to boiler

Thanks Bigcol, I didn't realise that photobucket did that these days. Quite happy to not use them now!

    Attaching elements to boiler

Thanks for your helpful reply, Piperbrew! I actually have a bunch of elements I bought years ago to make a DIY boiler. The thread on these is just a mm or so bigger than the hole so with a bit of careful filing I could use these. I think they have suitable shrouds too? They're also 240v and I...

    Attaching elements to boiler

Hey all, I bought a boiler off someone on here a while back and though it's served me well, both of the elements have now stopped working - both with big bangs. The first blew when I connected both kettle lead plugs to two individual sockets in my utility room when brewing. They worked fine...
