    Covid - Plan B & Omicron

And still you believe what the government chooses to tell you? Any government? Read up about the UK's Brigade 77. They are the ones controlling the narrative in the UK. Find out what their expertise is, and then you might start to question what you hear from MSM. Take a look at UK Column News...

Recalibrating my plans for AG/BIAB - advice appreciated

As aamcle suggests, don't be tempted to buy something smaller as it's a bit cheaper, and then be having to nurse it when it's boiling. A 30 litres size seems like a good compromise between being small enough if you want to do 10-15l batches, and capable of occasionally doing a full batch...

mini corny kegs with regulators and CO2 capsules

Carbonate the 19 litre cornie, and then pressurise the empty 9l cornie or growler to the same pressure. Return the co2 line to the cornie. Rig up a transfer line, from the out of the large cornie to the out of the 9l cornie or growler. Intermittently pull up the pressure release on the receiving...

mini corny kegs with regulators and CO2 capsules

Probably just rubber seals, or not tightened down enough, or both!

    Greg Hughes' Bitter

My thoughts are that you might not have left it long enough, and/or sufficiently warm enough to condition. Two weeks in the warm (how warm?), then a cold garage in the last two weeks of October, may be sufficient to give it some carbonation, but insufficient to develop a head.

Speaking as a Northener, we definitely like a lot of head. The more head the better! Now, back to brewing .......

mini corny kegs with regulators and CO2 capsules

It seems to me that you need to buy a complete cornie setup. Any of the other options you are considering will require you to have a complete cornie setup. Growlers are quite expensive. You are surely not considering buying sufficient growlers to take a complete brew. You will be filling a few...

mini corny kegs with regulators and CO2 capsules

I don't know about you and your friends, but I could polish off a 5l keg pretty fast, with a few friends helping. You would, therefore, need to have a couple of other kegs already chilled and sitting in the fridge, ready to go on. The time taken for one of these Peltier dispensers to chill down...

mini corny kegs with regulators and CO2 capsules

I don't have the 9 litre cornies, but I use taps directly onto the standard size corny. It's probably worth buying the flow control tap, as it is still usable even if the carbonation isn't perfect. They are just a bit of a faff to clean, in comparison to the standard ones - and they cost more...

    The Hods Brew Shed Build

I think the only problem about doing a nice build like this is the missus deciding it would be much better as a conservatory, or some such!

Methinks you have a deep clean session in your near future!

    party taps

I wouldn't leave any plated metal soaking in Starsan. Well, actually, I would, I just wouldn't do it again! It can attack and discolour some metals when left to soak! Ok, we were talking about party taps! Ignore all that above, which it looks like you did anyway!

    The Hods Brew Shed Build

I agree that sinks are very important. Get one wider, deeper (front to back) and deeper (top to bottom) than you think you will need. Be careful of the quality of the cheaper ones. If it attracts a magnet I would steer clear - they call them stainless, but they most certainly are not. Nice...

    Conical fermenters

They look really nice. They seem to overcome all of the issues that I have noted on mine. I wish I could get them over to Europe for a reasonable price.

    School bans sausage rolls

My dad smoked these, and when I was twelve he found out I was smoking. He took me to one side and gave me a Capstan Full Strength, and told me to smoke it - thinking I'd be sick. I smoked it all, inhaling it as well, and when I finished I asked him for another! That's when he gave me a belting!

    School bans sausage rolls

ahh I remember them sugar butties with Stork margarine, and connie onnie butties (condensed milk sandwiches to you from down south!). You're right we ate loads of what might now be thought of as unhealthy, but we never stopped running around, climbing, fighting etc! I think we had one fat kid...

    School bans sausage rolls

How about a contrary position? We are legally required to educate our children. Why should that be? Why shouldn't we just teach them what we like - or not teach them at all - they're our children after all. Society has decided that education is not only a right, but a legal requirement...

Things I've seen when riding my bike

Well, I'm still recovering from a broken hip (fractured head of femur) after falling/ being forced off the road just over three months ago. I can't say what actually happened, as I have no memory from half an hour before the accident, until a day after. A good smack on the head - which was...

    Eco friendly Sterilising products

Sodium hypochlorite is bleach, plain and simple. In large quantities it will cause problems with a septic tank. Brewers do not generally sterilise, they sanitise, and that is generally good enough. The most important step by far is cleaning, and ideally cleaning before anything gets hold...
